Children
Remember how I said Amanda couldn't move in? Well, guess what! I know, I know. Sometimes a mother needs to be flexible. You never know what life is gonna throw at ya.
The silver lining was that I was able to spend a day with all three of my kids together. So ya know what I did? I made them pose for pictures! Imagine that!
We had a nice dinner and watched a movie...it was a nice day.

Melancholy
I am not sure how I am feeling. I have many things weighing on my mind. I am worried about Mark. He hurt his knee again in the last game. He is planning on sitting out this week, in practice or the Rio Linda game. I am not sure if he should even play anymore. They lost the game this week to Casa Robles, but it wasn't a league game so it doesn't count! He got another touchdown in the first quarter. He played until the fourth quarter when his knee really started hurting.

Mark and Patty broke up a couple weeks ago. I am not sure how to feel about that. I think he should just stay single go on dates and enjoy his senior year. That kid has had a girlfriend since seventh grade...he needs to just enjoy himself.
Jacob is sad because he isn't getting much playing time in football. I am kind of annoyed by this. He does good. He is a tackling machine. I have a feeling it is because I made him late to a couple practices because he hadn't finished his homework. In the rules I was told they can't be punished for that. I will have to check that out and decide whether I should talk to the coach. I don't want to be one of those kind of parents that complain about their kid not getting enough playing time. But when you lose a game because tackles are being missed and you know that your kid could have gotten them...what should you do? They lost to Marysville 12-6. They weren't there in the first half, but they came back in the second half, just not soon enough. Oh well not a league game!!! Jacob was happy though, Amanda came to his game!!!

Beach Day
We went to a family reunion in Santa Rosa after Jake's game on Saturday. I had actually never met any of these people. It was kinda cool. I was really annoyed at myself after we left because I didn't talk to them more, I felt kinda shy/awkward. I brought my camera because I wanted to take everyones pictures, but I was too chicken to take any. I really wish I could change that about myself. So anyway, we spend the night in Rohnert Park and then headed off to Bodega. We hit the beach for a bit, then ate lunch at the Tides.
I know I look mad, but the sun was just in my eyes.
The whole gang (minus me of course).
Big brother gets in the way of checking out the scenery.
Pioneer vs Florin
Mark had the game of his career, so far, on Friday night! I have never seen him so animated on the field. He got a touchdown and had like 9 carries and several tackles. Pioneer won 20-18. Coach Butterworth was quoted in the paper that "Misener played his heart out." I think that was pretty cool.

The Colusa Game
Jacob's game in Colusa went well, they won 26-0. Jacob had a couple good tackles including one where the guy was all the was down the field...no one around...Jacob caught up and tackled him at the 10 yard line. He also caught a punt return, but I was so excited I forgot to take a picture! Next week we are at home against Lincoln.
Jacob wraps up a Colusa player for a tackle.
This is the play were Jacob stops a touchdown.
Jacobs misses this ball unfortunately.

Ouch, that hurt...
Let me begin by telling you that the Vacaville Bulldogs are a Division One team, and were Section Champs last year. Pioneer is a Division Three team and were League Champs in the TCC. That still doesn't take the sting away from the 6-74 romping they gave our boys last night. It was cool last night though to see Mark get to run the ball, he wasn't supposed to go in on offense last night, because of his knee, but he did after the first quarter since the score was like 30 something to 0! He was able to get a first down, which was one of the few first downs they got! The next play Tyler was able to get a touchdown, the only one of the game. The good thing is that this game doesn't count, they lost the same game last year and went on to be the league champs.
Jacob was having fun at water boy, and Will was ball boy. I think I got more pictures of them than of the team. Well, at least pictures that you can actually see. I wish I knew how to take pictures at night games that weren't blurry.
We are off to Colusa this morning to Jacob's football game.

Plumas Fire and Football
What a smoky day yesterday. The fire season has interrupted football season. When we got to practice yesterday, we were notified that there would be no practice due to the poor air quality. I was very pleased with this decision. The high school teams still practiced, however.
Here is the story about the fire in Plumas County that caused all the smoke in our area from news10.net

The Moonlight Fire burning near Plumas National Forest has grown to nearly 18,000 acres and is just five percent contained. The U.S. Forest Service said about 30 residences have been evacuated in the Upper Lights Creek and North Arm Indian Valley areas. Smoke from the fire is also have an impact, threatening high risk groups in the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys. The fire has prompted the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District to issue a health cautionary statement. Gary Arcemont, a meteorologist with the district said high particulate matter in the air can aggravate respiratory conditions and cause asthma attacks. "If you smell smoke you are probably breathing it," he said."It's definitely dangerous for high risk groups: elderly, people with asthma, young children," said Dr. Mark Grijnsztein, an allergist with Sutter Medical Group in Elk Grove.Lori McManus, one of Dr. Grijnsztein patients, said due to poor air quality Wednesday, she would be taking some precautions. "I would stay indoors a little bit more, run my air conditioner, maybe when I drive home put my air conditioner in my car on instead of opening my windows," said McManus. She also said she would be keeping her inhaler and her medication close at hand. The Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District is also warning that smoke from the fire is causing the air in the Sacramento region to be unhealthy for sensitive groups."It's important for people to take steps to protect their health and limit outdoor activity," said the district's Lori Kobza. "We could see similar conditions tomorrow."The air conditions have also prompted a health advisory from the Placer County Health and Human Services Department and Placer County Air Pollution Control District.“In a nutshell, if you can see or smell smoke, you should limit outdoor physical activities, and strongly consider canceling outdoor sporting events and other group physical activities," said Placer County Health Officer Dr. Richard Burton said. There are 1,000 firefighters assigned to the Moonlight Fire. The blaze is burning along the ridge line bordering the Plumas and Lassen National Forests. The Forest Service says flames are moving in a northeasterly direction along steep slopes.Highway 36 and all major roads are open.Investigators are still trying to determine how the fire started. They do know it began on private property Monday afternoon.

Johnny Carino's Restaurant
I am going to just die if I do not get back to Johnny Carino's soon. I went there with Mark when we were school shopping. I had the lemon rosemary chicken breast with angel hair pasta on the side and some green beans. That was absolutley the best pasta, and the best green beans I have EVER had. The chicken was good, but dang the side dishes were the star of the show. They were both tossed with olive oil instead of any sauces, which I am sure was the secret. I need to get that recipe!
Here is the description:
Lemon Rosemary Chicken: An 8 ounce marinated and grilled chicken breast deglazed with fresh lemon and rosemary. Served with sautéed green beans and angel hair pasta tossed with fresh roma tomatoes, spinach and garlic
Yum.....

WHY CAN'T WE GET A RESTAURANT LIKE THIS IN WOODLAND!!!???!!!

Yuba City Honkers and My Daughter
Jacob's football team did great yesterday against the Honkers. They won 26-0! I particularly enjoyed when Fitzer stripped the ball and ran back for a touchdown! After the game I went to Amanda's and then we took Aaron, Amanda, and Billy out to a late lunch. I got to spend some time with Amanda and I remember why I love her so much! Underneath all the drama and irresponsibility is a wonderful and fun to be with person. I look forward to the day when she "gets it" and becomes a responsible member of society!
